About:

We are a Latin/Latin Jazz band. The music we play ranges from original compositions to Latin and Jazz standards, contemporary jazz to jazz rock. From Coltrane to Weather Report, from Autumn Leaves to Santana, we love playing it all. The idiom is Latin, but the canvas is wide open. We have our own sound, and we are the only ones in the country doing what we are doing.

Orient Express has been the one guy's dream. He's the leader and the mentor- Mr. Monojit Datta. An authority on Latin percussion, he has hand-picked the musicians himself. The band is almost around 20 years young, formed around the year 1997. Traveled and played at many prestigious venues within the city Kolkata, as well as many places over India and abroad.

Each and every member of the band has a unique sound of their own and has been trained to play traditional Latin Music. The present line-up of the band consists of:

1) Arkapravo Ghosh : Guitar/Vocals
2) Sourav Chatterjee : Congas/Timbale/Assorted Percussion
3) Chandradeep Goswami : Drums/Vocals
4) Saurav Goswami : Vocals/Assorted Percussion
5) Debtanu De : Bass
6) Brata Deb : Piano/Keys/Vocals
7) Joyee Mukherjee : Vocals
