Abhishek Majumdar’s Eidgah Ke Jinnat is the Hindi-Urdu version of his contemporary classic, The Djinns of Eidgah. With a hard-hitting subject and blazing performances by the cast, the play doesn’t allow the spectators to digress. Interweaving true stories and testimonies with Islamic storytelling, the play showcases a simple story of a radicalised generation of kids in Kashmir and how things become difficult for them, thanks to the troubled state of affairs in the Valley and the army’s constant intervention.
12th & 13th of September.
2 Shows - 11 AM and 5 PM.
With the limited means we have currently, we, Kahe Vidushak Foundation have done a rehearsed reading online. We had artists from across the country who were a part of it. These are artists who were regular attendees at our Natya Aalochan (play reading) sessions. We have chosen a play that perfectly sets in with the theme of Independence Day, revolving around the on-going Kashmir issue, and thus becoming a case for introspection about Independence and its meaning for each individual, Abhishek Majumdar’s Eidgah ke Jinnat!
