Metal Chennai returns with the eighth edition of Brutal Carnage - Live at Gears and Garage in Chennai on the 30th of June. Featuring three amazing acts: Fountainhead from Germany, Indian legends Gutslit and local Chennai act Incendiarius on this heavy lineup.
Fountainhead is the alter ego of musical artist Tom Geldschläger. Operating from his studio in Berlin, Germany, Tom has appeared on over 100 albums as guitar player, arranger, producer, orchestrator, mixing/mastering engineer and sometimes even oud player. He's recorded and toured worldwide with artists like Obscura, Belphegor, Defeated Sanity, Amogh Symphony, Marco Minnemann, Hannes Grossmann, Voodoogods, Christian Münzner or Nader Sadek, has been featured in various music magazines around the globe, written several books of non fiction as well as musical notation, as well as introducing the fretless guitar to extreme metal. Today, Tom is widely regarded as a "modern day guitar legend", thanks to his inimitable playing style, complex genre bending compositions and fearless use of fretless instruments. He's currently endorsed by Aristides Guitars, Steinberg Audio, Loxx Products, Engl Amplification, DeadWeald Audio Engineering, NeuralDSP plugins, MONO cases & guitar straps and Bareknuckle Pickups. Tom is also an in demand clinician and public speaker in the fields of creativity, music production & musician's mental health and part of the cutting edge of spatial & 360 degree audio. 2023 sees Fountainhead return with his boldest and biggest solo release yet: "Changeling", a 65minute tour de force concept album, amping everything about Tom's work up to 11 - an allstar band featuring members of Fear Factory, Alkaloid, Virvum & Nicolas Maier Group, near impossible guitar acrobatics on both fretted & fretless instruments, highly complex yet catchy compositions incorporating influences from progressive metal, death metal, jazz/fusion, world & classical music, intricate orchestrations performed by a 40 piece ensemble of guest musicians, and the long awaited "Part 2" to Tom's most well known composition so far: "Weltseele", the 15-minute orchestral metal epic from Obscura's billboard chart entering "Akroasis" album, which introduced the wider metal world to Tom's unique style and songwriting back in 2016.
GUTSLIT is a critically acclaimed extreme metal band reigning from Mumbai, India. The quartet display cut-throat musical precision and blistering speeds meshed with their intense song writing. GUTSLIT has adapted various styles of death metal and grind core into their own brutal array of grinding riffs, pummelling blasts, vicious bass grooves and chilling gutturals. Thus, making GUTSLIT the finest and filthiest extreme band to hail from India. Following up Gutslit's 2017 album Amputheatre, comes a brand new album titled (to be revealed). The album is out independently in the Summer of 23. The Album has 8 crushing tracks and an evolution in sound from previous releases. The album is mixed and mastered by the legendary Mark Lewis (The Black Dahlia Murder, Whitechapel), along with artwork by Kidsquidy. The album features the return of Aditya Barve (Skewered in the Sewer) on vocals and is produced by Prateek Rajagopal (The book of Boba Fett, Creed 3).
Incendiarius is a death metal trio from Chennai formed in 2019. Incendiarius takes its inspiration from a lot of genres but at its core is the death metal approach to its music. The band consists of Samuel on Drums, Vachu on Bass and Boja on Guitar and vocals. Legendary bands like Decapitated, Meshuggah, Pantera, King crimson have been major inspiration for the band since its infancy.
