Eettillam
EETTILLAM means a habitat made for birth, introducing life to it’s very first breath. Connecting to the fact that the birth place of creation is mother earth itself and that the journey of all lives is a beautiful vibration to her rhythm, one earth and our only home, EETTILLAM is a continuance of all these thoughts and our songs are an extension to this view point. All songs are written and performed in our mother-tongue malayalam. EETTILLAM, a three-piece band consisting of lead and bass guitars, vocals and drums draws its soundscape from the periods of that which is past to the here and now and on towards what that is to come, a heavily distorted reality of a spreading sustain and honest pauses.
On its 7th year and counting musical journey, is an experimental music band that has been active
since its inception to the point now forward, creating and playing original songs in our own mother
tongue, set to reach out to all communities, to communicate through the medium of music.
From Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, Eettillam, under the influence of contemporary reality has over
20 original compositions, a growing document of the times we live through. Songs of nature,
of love, harmony and seasons of yesteryears, of humanity, empathy and all earthly virtues that make
us what we are, underlines the contents of our musical expression.
Eettillam, consisting of singer/songwriter Ratheesh kumar, Devan narayanan on bass guitar, Karthik
on percussion are full-time musicians, dedicated to spending time studying and exploring the
musical scopes and scapes of today.
