Description
Rules Regulations:
- Tug and tackle is an engaging and contemporary debating competition that will include a huge variety of topics, from unconventional ways to live your 30’s to marijuana legalization. The debate competition will be all about vouching for your voice.
- The event span will be 2.5 hours.
- The contestants will participate in a team (each team will have two participants).
- The event will have two rounds.
First round
The first round will have informal topics. Two teams will go against each other in random order and based on random selection.
Second round
The top four teams will qualify for the second round. The four teams will then compete on topics which are relatively more complex. The final topics are as follows. The participants are expected to prepare the same.
- Some of the debatable topics could be as follows where the house:
- Would use force to bring peace around
- Would support positive discrimination
- Would reject consensus during decision making
- Abominates abortion
- Believes that the internet encourages democracy
- Would ban homework/assignment
Timeline of the event:
- Each team will be given 7 minutes each for their debate, 5 minutes for each team to present their arguments, and the bell will ring at the last minute to alert the speaker about the time. After both teams have presented their arguments, there will be a rebuttal round where the two teams will have the chance to ask questions from each other. The rebuttal round will last for two minutes for each of the teams.
- Some general rules to follow during debate:
- The team supporting the motion must not shift its point of view. The same goes for the opposition, who must oppose the motion completely (whatever their private opinions may be).
- If a speaker makes a statement, they must be able to provide evidence or reasons to support the statement.
- Facts presented in a debate must be accurate.
- Speakers may refrain from bringing up new points in a rebuttal speech.
- No expression that is offensive, personal or defamatory in nature shall be accepted.
Disclaimer:
There is a buffer of 3 minutes for each round in case they exceed for any unforeseen reason.

- Temperature checks might be taken by any of the venue/restaurant representatives prior, during, and after, in the club. The event organiser/venue will make a decision on access to the restaurant/venue based on your health conditions

- Please remember to carry a valid government-issued photo ID proof (Driver's License/Aadhar Card/PAN Card/Voter Card/Passport). You may not be permitted to enter in the absence of one.
- The venue and schedule are subject to change.
- This ticket permits entry to the event venue only. Any pre or after parties may have other ticketing requirements and may be sold separately.
- Security procedures, including frisking, remain the right of the management.
- No refund/replacement on a purchased ticket. Tickets you purchase are for personal use. You must not transfer (or seek to transfer) the tickets in breach of the applicable terms. A breach of this condition will entitle us to cancel the tickets without prior notification, refund, compensation or liability.
- Please do not carry dangerous or potentially hazardous objects including but not limited to weapons, knives, guns, fireworks, laser devices and bottles to the venue. We may have to eject these things (with or without you) from the venue.
- The sponsors/bands/organizers/management are not responsible for, including but not limited to, any injury or damage that may occur during or at the event.
- No liability or claims that may arise due to the consumption or intake of any food or drink or any other consumption will be entertained by the management.
- Parking near or at the event premises is at the risk of the vehicle owner.
- The holder of this ticket grants organizers the right to use, in perpetuity, all or any part of the recording of any video or still footage made of the holder's appearance on any channel or magazine for broadcast in any and all media globally and for advertising, publicity and promotions relating hereto without any further approval of theirs.
- The management reserves the exclusive right without refund or other recourse, to refuse admission to anyone who is found to be in breach of these terms and conditions including, if necessary, ejecting the holder/s of the ticket from the venue after they have entered the premises.
