Our IP - “ African Music Exploration” is built on showcasing diverse African sounds from the last five decades. We love juxtaposing old African music with contemporary African club sounds and tracing how sounds from different scenes have migrated to different parts of the world. We wanted to kick off this year hosting an artist who’s been on the forefront of doing the same with her radio show on NTS which is an archive in itself of these sounds.

We’re super excited to host Tash LC this month and take our night of African Music Exploration on tour this month. Tash LC has an innate sense of rhythm and soul that guides her selection. Sensitive and assured her sets have a way of balancing Afro-jazz, Kuduro, Gqom and esoteric club sounds.

Focus Group Radio is committed to building experiences that are inclusive for women, non-binary, transgender and queer folks. We’re taking additional efforts to ensure attendees at our gig feel safe and free to enjoy the music.

Over the course of the night well dive neck deep into the of sounds from the African continent with an open to close set. We'll delve neck deep into sounds of African Jazz, Afro beat, Afro Disco, Kuduro, GQOM, Batida, Singeli and a whole host of other things covering the last five decades. Expect to discover music that isn’t traditionally built for the dance floors along with contemporary club sounds from the African continent and its migrant communities that is under-represented in the scene.

There was once an idea — a eureka moment — to create a space that was the antithesis of “bar gigs”. A place dedicated to expression, deep in the underground of Indian contemporary culture. From this, antiSOCIAL was born. After three years of being the epicentre of local scenes in Bombay and Delhi, the idea became bigger than the spaces it was confined to. In comes marching antiSOCIAL Lower Parel. With the backdrop of the grungy warehouse of Todi Mills, antiSOCIAL is returning to Bombay. While the earlier iteration at Khar Social became an urban hotspot that trampolined the indie music scene into the mainstream Indian ethos, antiSOCIAL Lower Parel is going to be bigger than that. Underground, at antiSOCIAL, is an aesthetic. With a state-of-the-art AV set up and a banging (almost mythical) calendar of Indian and International artists already planned, antiSOCIAL at Todi Mills will be the new beating heart of India’s subculture.
