-National Law School of India University, Bangalore is very happy to announce that Strawberry Fields XXIV will be taking place on the 9th and 10th of January this year! This year, Strawberry Fields is proud to announce its stellar line-up with international artists, Khan and Tangerine Stoned performing on 9th January; and the bands Cinema of Excess, Spotlight and Haiku-Like Imagination performing on 10th January. Ever since its inception way back in 1996, Strawberry Fields has focused on promoting grassroots music and entry to the show on NLS campus has always been free! Rated as “India’s best college rock festival” by the Rock Street Journal, Strawberry Fields is a fantastic platform for upcoming bands. Due to the pandemic, we have shifted to an online model wherein all the performances would be streamed online on SkillBox. All the preliminary performances would be streamed on 9th January and the finals would be streamed on 10th January. But wait, there is more! For all those craving for the live offline gig experience in Bangalore, head towards the Rasta Café on MG Road on 10th January. The headliners for 10th January can be witnessed playing live at the Rasta Café for an entry fee of just Rs. 100/-. For those wanting to witness the show from the comfort of their homes, you can livestream it from Skillbox! We ensure Great music and fun for this weekend, both offline and online!

Cinema of Excess

Sometimes we hear a song and we're beamed to a different world. Anirudh Ravi, Bharath Kashyap and Abheet Anand make up the acoustic trio that is Cinema of Excess, and the band does just that with every song they release and every show they play. Inspired and influenced by artists such as The Milk Carton Kids, John Mayer, Iron and Wine and Damien Rice, Cinema of Excess will make you go from nostalgic to heartfelt, and everything in between. In 2019, they made their debut international tour with ‘The Boarding Pass Tour’ and they recently released a single ‘Beyond What’s Here’ with an accompanying video/BTS footage of their journey as musicians making music together. Cinema of Excess is currently in the studio, working on many new releases this year including a single, a music video (or two?), and their long awaited second EP.

Scatter Pillar is a 5-piece alternative band from Mumbai formed in December 2019. Their inspirations stem from varying styles as they all come from different musical backgrounds and they inherently believe in diversity of that nature. As a result, their music is reflective of this melting pot of ideas and emotions thus created.

Necroscope

NECROSCOPE is a four piece Modren Progressive Deathcore metal act hailing from Shillong, Meghalaya. Necroscope explore a mixture of modern deathcore metal and progressive metal spycing it up with alternate and poly-rhythmic guitar riffs and groovy breakdowns. They released their self debut single entitled 'ARISE' on February 2019. The band consist of Clement Nongrum, Adrian Ryntathiang, Kerlang Thabah, Fair Marbaniang.

Salt Rock

Salt Rock is a funkadelic rock band hailing from New Delhi, India. First emerging as a sophomore band in the ever-growing DU circuit, the band quickly gained a cult following for its fast-paced eccentric music. The band first cut their teeth on the likes of Tool, Led Zeppelin, RHCP and Snarky Puppy and these influences are carefully balanced and blended into an accessible format in their music.

Treble Puns

We're Abhimanyu Roy and Sohini Bhattacharya, together we're Treble Puns, a Bangalore based instrumental duo. Our music includes guitars, keyboards, drums, percussion, electronic and ambient loops. The guitars provide an Indian Classical and Blues inspired melody, while the loops create a progressive groove. Our influences range from Pink Floyd to Daft Punk to Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt. We use a lot of live looping to create a full sound and also enjoy making animated music videos for our songs. :)

The band was formed in november 2018 and has been a part of various semi professional band competition like Northeast Festivals, Delhi 2019 in the top five, strawberryfields bangalore 2020 in top five. The project is currently working on their debut album called "Zikr".

Bright

Bright is the solo instrumental music act by Preetam.S.P (previously known as the vocalist for metalcore outfit 'Demise of Deceased', former guitarist for thrash metal band 'Chaotic Serenity' and is currently the frontman for the black metal band 'Anti' from India). Bright currently has three releases available on all major music streaming/downloading platforms - "Screeching Fingers"(EP), Dec 2017 and "Copious Dreams"(Single), March 2018. "Luminescent Being"(LP), Bright's first full-length record was released in the month of May 2020.
