There is a journey with this song. I was flying to Bengaluru in 2020. I was sitting beside a little girl and her mother. I noticed that the daughter was so excited and she was getting positively restless, which in hindsight seemed that it was her first experience in an airplane. She was happy with her present situation. I, on the other hand, was feeling so irritated that the plane was not taking off. While trying to write a song, I remembered this particular memory and thought, during our adulthood and in our pursuits of going after our goals, we often forget to enjoy our present moment, and feel grateful for what we have. Hence I wrote “Azure,” where I tried writing the song from the little girl’s perspective of enjoying her present moment of flying in an airplane. This is the first song I wrote from a third person perspective as till now, I have only been writing lyrics from a first person standpoint. It was a different and enriching experience.
