About:
We live in a time and age where art and human expression have been relegated to nothing more than "content" that can easily be skipped, swiped or cancelled. I value myself and the work I do, and this campaign is my humble effort to give back some value to the people that have helped make this vision of mine a reality. While the best things in life are free, everything else costs money.
A lot of time, effort, energy and resources have been put into making this song and video. Years and years of hard work, countless hours of practice, by each and every person involved with this project. From the video editors to the musicians, to the producer and engineer. I sincerely hope you're able to see the fruit of all those years of effort. A small step goes a long way when it comes to ascribing value.
About Clayton Hogermeer:
My musical journey began in 2012. I played an open mic night, and it was my first public performance of something I had written. I had just one song. I got spotted here and based on that one song I was given the opportunity to play at my first festival. One month and 8 songs later, I found myself next to some of the most respected names of the independent scene of India. And I guess I've never looked back.
I've played every kind of gig you can think of to every kind of crowd you can think of.
All across the country, from Hrishikesh to Pondicherry. I've played all kinds of songs for all kinds of people. English songs, Hindi songs, Happy songs and sad songs, at weddings in palaces and in crowded trains, at orphanages and old aged homes. In offices and on street curbs. I've had residencies at what was considered the best live music venue in town, and the tiniest bar with the biggest of hearts, which also happens to be my personal favourite. Some of the best restaurants in town and some of the emptiest ones I've ever seen. I've played to drunkards and to holy congregations. Faced my demons and strengthened my faith. I Had my first and worst heartbreak and found the love of my life. Made friends that I'm going to cherish forever and learnt what it means to be a son. Played with every possible musician I could play with and found the perfect group of guys to back me up, both on stage and off it. 8 years and an innumerable number of performances later, here I am with my debut single, I Don't Want Your Hate.
