Translation :
A funeral fair,
A funeral gathering,
By the river side.
Friends and family
get together,
And are walking in the procession of death.
Time for a funeral.
By the side of the road, In tents and tarpaulin,
People sit in despair,
And eat alu dum.
A play of karma,

The malice of fate,
On the rocks by the river,
A father with dead eyes,
Sits and shaves his head.
Time for a funeral,
a carnival in the neighbourhood,
crouched in the corner,
married women feel dazed realizing,
their lineage has shrunk.

A funeral fair,
A funeral gathering,
By the riverside,
Friends and family get together,
To mourn alone.
A funeral time,
Beside the road,
Packed in cars,
People feel sorrow,
But are bound by words.

The water of the river flows downhill,
The child’s ashes, (Wakle’s dreams)
The brother immerses in the river,
as the mundane truth, hangs over his heart.
Time for a funeral,
a carnival in the neighbourhood,
conversations about future and fate, strangers are acquainted,
in the gossip of neighbours.
The mother sits alone, with her tears,
Her spirit flies away,
her body empty.
The mother sits alone,
Her spirit has flown.
